Who am I?
An optimistic second generation American, hoping to create a life of my own while integrating my familial expectations and paying homage to the sacrifices that were made for my future. I grew up in Mansfield, OH, about three hours Northeast of Cincinnati. My upbringing in a semi-rural area has made me appreciate the efforts that my parents made to incorporate our culture in my life. I consider myself many things, but the top three adjectives I would give myself right now are: outgoing, enthusiastic and caring.
What am I interested in?
So! Many! Things! It feels like I don't go a day at UC without learning something new, and to me, that's such a good feeling to have. I love learning about culture, language, plants, flowers, and people. In addition, I consider myself a journeyer on this culinary adventure that we call life, formally known as a gastronome or colloquially, as a 'foodie.' I am always here to share and receive restaurant recommendations so send them my way!
I am currently involved in GlobeMed, UHP Ambassadors, and CHEP (Community Health Education Program). I have served as the president of the Beekeeping Club, and the Director of Communications for Globemed for the 2019-2020 school year. Apart from these extracurriculars, I care deeply about various social justice issues with a focus on women's and reproductive health. I have an interest in educating others about these relevant issues and de-stigmatizing taboo topics like menstruation and sexual health.
What do I strive to accomplish in the future?
At the end of the day, I want to make a difference on the lives of the people around me, and make my community a better place. I want to give back to this world that has given me so much. I can see myself accomplishing this through some form of graduate school.
